The recent announcement details the features of this new platform. Although it is presently limited to a Chrome extension, a public beta version of the full web app is set to be available in early 2025. Creators have the flexibility to share varying details, including their name, website URL, and social media links.

According to the company, Content Credentials play a crucial role in shielding creators from unauthorized usage and incorrect attribution of their content. Notably, even media not created within the Adobe suite can benefit from this attribution service, encompassing images, videos, and audio files.

In addition to attribution capabilities, the web app offers users the option to indicate their preference against their content being utilized for AI model training. The organization emphasized that it solely trains its AI models on publicly accessible content or that for which permission has been obtained. However, marking the AI label provides additional protection against other AI systems in the market.

This protective measure is contingent upon other firms acknowledging Content Credentials. Currently, only one well-known aggregator supporting content opt-outs has committed to honoring this attribution. The company is dedicated to promoting wide-scale acceptance of this protective feature across the industry. However, a potential limitation exists; if creators opt out of allowing their work to be used for AI training, they will forfeit eligibility for the associated stock services offered by the company.
