The Star Wars saga is embroiled in a fresh timeline debate sparked by a surprise appearance in the prequels related to The Acolyte

Navigating the chronology of Star Wars is undoubtedly perplexing. It seems every time aficionados of the lore meticulously chart out the myriad happenstances set in a distant cosmos, an emerging installment serves to jolt the established order. Enter The Acolyte…

Recently, the series on Disney Plus surprised viewers with an appearance by High Council Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi, a figure previously seen in The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith, despite the show's setting taking place roughly a hundred years before those films' narratives begin.

According to his age in the earlier films, Mundi should not have been in existence 40 years prior to his birth, as one observant admirer pointed out on Twitter following the release of the fourth episode. Another expressed their displeasure more vehemently, rebuking the apparent oversight in both character portrayal and continuity.

Yet another viewer criticized The Acolyte for neglecting its own plot points and careless scripting. In contrast, some fans remain unruffled by the apparent historical disarray and have noted on social platforms that Mundi's species, Cereans, are known for their prolonged lifecycles, though the exact length of their longevity remains unverified.

One social media user advised newcomers to brace for a "MESSA" plot when delving into the Star Wars universe, arguing that fluctuations in backgrounds or lifespans of extraterrestrial species across the Legends or canon are inconsequential.

"Just a day ago, not a soul was concerned with the particulars of Ki-Adi-Mundi's birth," another observer remarked, while a different fan humorously suggested that if any Jedi were to misrepresent their age, it would undoubtedly be Ki-Adi-Mundi.
