The First International Hotel Chain in Asia To Use Relay Robots
Two hotels from the Shangri-La group, Singapore to debut the autonomous helpers
Hotel Jen is excited to be the first international hotel chain to use autonomous Relay robots in Asia. Both Hotel Jen Orchardgateway and Tanglin Singapore branches welcome their new robotic – colleagues, Jeno and Jena !
The pair are made by Savioke, USA. 1M tall Relay-bots are able to move unmanned around the hotel thanks to sensitive sensors. They can ride the elevators and even make phone calls to rooms upon arrival. When they are not busy with their duties you can find them at their default stations in the hotel lobby .
This dynamic duo will assist in room deliveries from the in-dining room menu to basic hotel amenities be it an extra towel, tooth brush set or cups and etc… Guests can typically expect a delivery within 15 minutes. Their deliveries will also cover from midnight to 6 am.
Inspired by the concept of a butler, Toby Tan (@tobyato) from Band of Doodlers designed silhouettes for Jeno and Jena. The Relay robot-butler adorning a bright pink coat and scarf is Jena and Jeno will always be in a turquoise tuxedo and tie. Just like the bicycle images on their backs, these lil’ bots will be always on the go!
