Kaspersky Lab identified new Android malware strain called RedDrop that can secretly record users’ conversations. Security researcher at Kaspersky Lab, Victor Chebyshev, reported that the malware capable of spying on its victims by collect data from memory cards and contacts lists then discreetly making the device buy paid-for subscriptions, causing financial risk and a headache!
Majority of the detections came from China. The malware is spreading via 3rd party platforms that disguises the software as adult applications. Kaspersky Lab products have successfully detected and blocked RedDrop since it has been identified in September 2017.
