There’s many reason to use multiple systems is a single work station, beginning from programming work, app development, graphic designing for multiple platform, and many other form of works.

Why use different platform?
Some might ask why use multi platforms? There are 3 main os in the desktop market now, the Microsoft’s Windows, Linux’s Ubuntu, and Apple’s Mac OS, and on tablet and smart phone market both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android (Bye bye Window’s mobile).
As each platform have their own unique feature and specification, production work nowadays have to cater for all platform. Examples, Ads display differently on all screen sizes, smart phone game does not feels the same on tablet or is disgustingly different on desktop.
