Edifier P275, appreciate the little things
You know, when we got this IEM, there’s nothing really stands out from it. Is a simple IEM that seems to keep everything to itself. As we recently also reviewed the Edifier R19U, we have hopes that it will surprise us. Not out of supprise, the Edifier P275 packs a well balance performance in its little package.
1. Edifier P275, overview
Driven by a 10mm Neodymium driver, this IEM has everything you expect what an earbud can provide you. It is well angled at 90 degrees to drive sound into your ear, and behind the motor there intake holes to allows air dynamics, silicon earbud to enable noise isolation, it also comes with TPE flats cable with anti-winding, in-line mic with an adapter for the older phone to take advantage of the in-line mic.
Honestly, the features offered in a single package in Edifier is abundance and is a lovely touch for anyone that seek for a hassle free IEM. But does any of these features make sense? Let’s look at it one by one:
The Edifier P275 archive this by a securing a barrier around your ear canal with the silicon earbud. How well this can be archive would be depending on the material of the earbud and how sensitive with your ears are. To me, this got the job done, when louder music plays the silicon does what it suppose to do, isolate background noise with the extra merit of over prolong time usage, my ear canal does not feel itchy or sweaty.
TPE anti-winding flat cable
Let’s get down to the point, no, this flat still will tangle like a normal cable, BUT, when it does, it is less messy than normal rubber cable due to the material is a more condense Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) is it much less flexible than common rubber cable, and also rest assure it will still band.
To further assist with the tangling problem, the cable were made flat. Making the cable with only 2 directions to band, either front or back, where round cable have the whole world to band toward.
So again, conclusion, does it tangle? Yes, but it is much easier to manage. Is it as flexible as the normal cable? Yes, but it is less likely that it would tangle like a normal round cable.
The in-line mic
Now, this is what the P in the Edifier P275 is all about, these series are designed to act as hand free. So while you’re enjoying your music, you don’t have to hold up your phone’s mic to answer calls. And does the mic works well? Yes, it clear and respond well during our test.
Now Edifier takes one step further to include a TRRS to TRRS adapter for the P275, so when you comes from an older platform or feature phones, where the TRRS plating is different, you can still use the in-line mic without issues.
